Legal Updates for July 2026 SQE1 Exam

In this section of the website, the Revise SQE team are delighted to provide you with updates on the law that is assessable on the SQE assessments. This page acts as your companion to the Revise SQE series of revision guides and will ensure that you remain up-to-date and ready for your assessments. This page will be populated as and when new updates arise of relevance to SQE candidates.

As detailed in the SQE1 Assessment Specification, the examinable law ‘cut off’ date is four months prior to the first assessment window. For candidates sitting SQE1 in July 2026, this ‘cut off’ date is 13 March 2026 (inclusive).

The updates below relate to the 2025/26 editions of Revise SQE books and are designed to assist candidates in the July 2026 sitting of SQE1 by providing them with any essential updates or changes to the law that may impact upon their sitting. They focus only on changes or developments between 1 May 2025 (when the 2025/26 editions were published) and 13 March 2026 (the ‘cut off’ date for the July 2026 examination).

Any updates post-13 March 2026 will be incorporated into the 2026/27 editions of the Revise SQE titles, due to be published in August 2026.
